Here is a list and a brief description of some of the systems we offer and what they remove.

Whole House Systems:

1. An Activated Carbon Tank - usually installed next to your hot-water heater.

This system is used to remove Chlorine and other pollutants, as well as organic substances, such as decayed vegetation and run-off. According to Dr. Joseph M. Price, MD, "Chlorine is used to combat microbial contamination, but it can react with organic matter in the water and form dangerous, carcinogenic Trihalomethanes. Chlorine is the greatest crippler and killer of modern times. It is an insidious poison." * A Professor of Water Chemsitry at the University of Pittsburgh claims that exposure to vaporized chemicals in the water supplies through showering, bathing and inhalation is 100 times greater than through drinking the water.

2. A Water Softner - usually installed next to your hot-water heater.

This system removes the "hardness", or calcium and magnesium deposits. The results from the U.S. Geological Survey indicate that 85% of American homes are supplied with "hard" water ranging from 1-400 grains per gallon (gpg). The EPA recommends using water not exceeding 7 gpg. An Ohio State University study found that "hard" minerals react with soaps and detergents to form an insoluble, sticky residue, reducing its cleaning power considerably, and leaving skin and hair dull and unhealthy, and reduces the life and effectiveness of appliances (dishwasher, hot-water heater, washing machine, plumbing). According to a study commissioned by the Water Quality Research Council, water heaters work 30% less efficiently with "hard" water. Another study done by Purdue University proved that the life of clothing and household textiles was prolonged up to 15% when washed in "soft" water.

3. An Iron and Sulfur Filter - usually installed next to your hot-water heater.

This filters are typically used only in areas where the iron and sulfur levels are high. Like the softener, this filter prolongs the life of your appliances, brings out the natural beauty of your hair and skin, allows soap to actually dissolve and work, which means less is needed, and makes your skin, hair, clothes, dishes, and everything your water touches look better and last longer than ever.

Kitchen Systems:

1. A Reverse Osmosis (RO) System - usually installed under your kitchen sink.

This is a 4 stage system, 1 Sediment Filter, 2 Activated Carbon Filters, and a RO Membrane.

RO, when combined with Activated Carbon, is the best way to purify water so far. The membrane is semipermeable, allowing only water atoms to pass. This system comes complete with a pump, metal holding tank, and a faucet for your kitchen sink.
